Patient Safety Attendant

About The Position

St. David's South Austin Medical Center is hiring a Virtual Patient Safety Attendant to help protect patients at risk for falls, injury, or self-harm. Working from a remote station, the attendant closely monitors patients’ physical and emotional well-being and communicates concerns to the care team in real time so that the team can respond promptly. The role supports patient safety and a compassionate, respectful, and collaborative care environment.

Requirements

Obtain Basic Cardiac Life Support certification within 30 days of employment start date.

Responsibilities

Continuously watch patients to support their safety and well-being.
Identify risks such as falls or self-harm and promptly alert the care team.
Accurately and clearly document patient activity and changes throughout the shift.
Protect patient privacy and safeguard confidential information.
Collaborate with the healthcare team to foster compassion, respect, and teamwork.
