Patient Safety Attendant - Float Pool
About The Position
As a casual/per diem Patient Safety Attendant (PSA), you will float among Mount Carmel Dublin, Mount Carmel East, Mount Carmel Grove City, Mount Carmel New Albany, and Mount Carmel St. Ann's. The PSA supports a safe environment for patients who may be mentally or emotionally incapacitated, confused, or at risk of injuring themselves or others. Under the direction of the registered nurse managing the patient's plan of care, the PSA observes patient activities and provides appropriate support. This position has day and night shifts available. Day shift is listed as 7:00 am–7:30 am, and night shift is 7:00 pm–7:30 am. Weekend and holiday rotation is required.
Requirements
- Effective communication skills.
- Ability to follow verbal and/or written instructions.
Nice To Haves
- High school graduate preferred.
- Previous patient care experience is helpful but not necessary.
Responsibilities
- Observe patient activities under the direction of the registered nurse assigned to manage the patient's plan of care.
- Accompany patients to different departments.
- Assist with patients' personal needs, including feeding, positioning, toileting, and ambulation as appropriate.
- Maintain a clean, neat environment for the patient.
- Collaborate with other health care workers regarding the patient's plan of care and treatment.
