About The Position

The Patient Safety Attendant (Sitter) works under the direct supervision of a registered nurse and helps provide a safe environment as an alternative to restraints. The attendant sits with and observes an assigned patient, maintaining constant and alert observation. The role protects patient safety and security by preventing harm to the patient, harm to others, harm from others, and flight risk. Staff are expected to support a mission-driven, relationship-based care culture and put the needs of the patient first.

Requirements

High school graduate or equivalent.
BLS certification required within one week of the start date.
Basic computer skills.
Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
Verbal and written communication skills.
Promotes team building.
Self-directed.
Able to adapt to unpredictable situations.
Able to work flexible hours, including days, evenings, nights, holidays, and weekends.

Nice To Haves

Patient care or healthcare-related field experience is preferred; on-the-job training is provided.
