About The Position

The Patient Safety Attendant (Sitter) works under the direct supervision of a registered nurse and provides a safe environment as an alternative to restraints. The attendant sits with and observes an assigned patient, maintaining constant and alert observation. The role protects patient safety and security by preventing harm to the patient from themselves, others, or outside sources, as well as preventing flight risk.

Requirements

• High school graduation or equivalent.
• BLS certification required within one week of the start date.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
• Verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to promote team building.
• Self-directed.
• Ability to adapt to unpredictable situations.
• Flexibility to work days, evenings, nights, holidays, and weekends.

Nice To Haves

• Patient care or healthcare-related field experience; on-the-job training is provided.
