About The Position

Sun River Health is seeking a full-time Patient Representative/Front Desk Receptionist for its Washington St. site in Poughkeepsie, New York. The role provides patient-centered support and facilitates access to services in a pleasant, knowledgeable, and efficient manner. The Patient Representative communicates with a diverse population and is responsible for patient registration and appointment processes, serving as an access point for patients receiving care. The role carries out duties in compliance with applicable systems and job-specific standards. The position offers $20.00–$23.13 per hour. Eligible external applicants may receive a $1,500 sign-on bonus, subject to terms and conditions. Sun River Health is a nonprofit Federally Qualified Health Center serving communities in New York.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
2–4 years of work-related experience.

Nice To Haves

Bilingual in English and Spanish, orally and in writing.

Responsibilities

Assist with daily reception activities and ensure that processes needed for patient services are initiated.
Communicate effectively with team members and patients about all aspects of service.
Handle telephone and mail contact with patients.
Schedule appointments, collect fees, and explain services and charges for patient services.
Distribute patient materials, including satisfaction cards, patient rights information, and other appropriate materials.
Verify insurance and set fees based on the sliding scale.
