About The Position

The Patient Representative assists patients, residents, and faculty physicians throughout patient intake, processing, and departure. The role uses good judgment while organizing and completing clerical and reception functions. The representative also assists the Manager with related activities to support efficient and effective patient care and service, physician support, and resident education in accordance with established standards of care. This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week, daytime, first-shift position in the MSG Endocrine department.

Requirements

High school graduate.
One or two years of experience in a physician’s office, or completion of an accredited medical assistant program.
Typing and computer skills.
Familiarity with medical terminology.
Effective communication, interpersonal, and telephone skills.

Responsibilities

Assist patients, residents, and faculty physicians with their needs during intake, processing, and departure.
Organize and complete clerical and reception functions.
Assist the Manager with related activities to support efficient and effective patient care and service, physician support, and resident education.
Follow appropriate pre-established standards of care.
