About The Position
Deaconess is seeking a compassionate and dedicated PRN Patient Intake Specialist I for the Emergency Department. The role is one of the first points of contact for patients and visitors, providing a welcoming, respectful, and patient-centered registration experience. As an ambassador of Deaconess, the specialist helps foster an environment of courtesy, empathy, dignity, and optimism.
Requirements
- Completion of high school or GED is required.
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge of the health care revenue cycle is preferred.
- Understanding of insurance is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients and visitors professionally and compassionately.
- Register patients accurately and efficiently.
- Collect payments according to established procedures.
- Direct and escort patients to appropriate locations as needed.
- Comply with applicable State and Federal regulations and hospital policies and procedures.
- Promote a positive, patient-centered experience as an ambassador of Deaconess.
