About The Position

The Patient Intake Specialist I is one of the first points of contact for patients and visitors, providing a warm welcome and a smooth registration experience. As an ambassador of Deaconess, this role helps foster a nurturing, positive, patient-centered environment built on courtesy, respect, empathy, dignity, and optimism. The position is in Patient Access at the Midtown Campus Registration department and covers Monday through Sunday D/E shifts.

Requirements

• Completion of high school or GED is required.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of the health care revenue cycle is preferred.
• Understanding of insurance is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and visitors with professionalism and compassion.
• Register patients accurately and efficiently.
• Collect payments in accordance with established procedures.
• Direct and escort patients to appropriate locations as needed.
• Ensure compliance with applicable State and Federal regulations, as well as hospital policies and procedures.
• Foster a positive, patient-centered experience as an ambassador of Deaconess.
