About The Position

Under minimal supervision, collaborates with management, Patient Financial Services leadership, Faculty, third party providers and hospitals staff to maximize revenue cycle performance. Carries out in-depth analysis, providing insight, feedback and guidance on trends and issues identified, and provides the data and understanding necessary to support decision making, project prioritization, and improvements across the revenue cycle.

Requirements

  • Advanced knowledge of data bases and report development.
  • Ability to solve complex data report needs.
  • Strong understanding of physician billing and clinical processes related to billing.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills to interact effectively with a diverse range of people, and build trust and consensus with constituents including faculty, staff, and providers.
  • Proficiency in MS Office software.
  • Ability to collaborate across and within different levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates closely with leadership and other team members to develop communications and monthly/weekly/daily reporting packages in order to provide consistent and reliable support to internal and external customers.
  • Works independently to assess and understand areas of need; helps identify the most significant issues and opportunities for improvement within the revenue cycle.
  • Provides analytical support and subject matter expertise to all change management, projects and process improvement efforts across revenue cycle tasks.
  • When appropriate, provides on the ground guidance and support to departments and clinics.
  • When appropriate, works with Patient Financial Services and Managed Care staff to ensure payers and third party contractor payments and other terms are consistent with the terms of our agreements.
  • May be assigned specific ongoing projects responsibilities such as coordinating adjustments to the Charge Master, or coordinate work with third party vendors/programs regarding missing charge opportunities or potential underpayments.
  • Work and maintain Charge Review and Claim Edit Workqueues related to Charge Master and Enrollment issues within the practice management system (Epic).
  • Provides subject matter expert guidance in the development of lower level analyst and their achievement in understanding UTHP as it relates to revenue cycle, and technologies and processes that impact revenue cycle tasks.
  • Supports the development and implementation of training to enable adoption of changes in revenue cycle and to sustain improvements.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
