About The Position
The Patient Financial Navigator monitors and collects patients’ financial responsibilities. The role keeps patients’ insurance benefits up to date in OncoEMR and Centricity and reviews patient services for diagnosis and insurance coverage appropriateness. It also performs the daily tasks of Managed Care and Patient Financial Navigator.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Experience working in a healthcare field, preferably in a clinical setting or business office.
- Excellent verbal and communication skills.
- Understanding of medical terminology.
- Knowledge of the managed care authorization process.
- Knowledge of ICD-10 codes.
- Collection experience.
- Ability to calculate and collect patients’ financial responsibility, insurance copayments, and coinsurance.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and collect patients’ financial responsibilities.
- Keep patients’ insurance benefits up to date in OncoEMR and Centricity.
- Review patient services for diagnosis and insurance coverage appropriateness.
- Perform daily Managed Care and Patient Financial Navigator tasks.
