About The Position
The Patient Financial Navigator monitors and collects patients’ financial responsibilities. The role keeps patients’ insurance benefits up to date in OncoEMR and Centricity, and reviews patient services for appropriateness based on diagnosis and insurance coverage. It also performs the daily tasks of Managed Care and Patient Financial Navigator.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Experience working in a healthcare field, preferably in a clinical setting or business office.
- Excellent verbal and communication skills.
- Understanding of medical terminology.
- Knowledge of the managed care authorization process.
- Knowledge of ICD-10 codes.
- Collection experience.
- Ability to calculate and collect patients’ financial responsibility and insurance copayments or coinsurance.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and collect patients’ financial responsibilities.
- Keep patients’ insurance benefits current in OncoEMR and Centricity.
- Review patient services for appropriateness based on diagnosis and insurance coverage.
- Perform daily Managed Care and Patient Financial Navigator tasks.
