About The Position

The Patient Financial Navigator monitors and collects patients’ financial responsibilities. The role keeps patients’ insurance benefits up to date in OncoEMR and Centricity and reviews patient services for appropriateness in relation to diagnosis and insurance coverage. The position also performs daily Managed Care and Patient Financial Navigator tasks. Employment offers are contingent on clear results from a background screening. New hires must receive required vaccinations, including the influenza vaccine, unless an exemption is approved, and are subject to drug testing. Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute is a drug-free workplace and does not recognize Medical Marijuana cards.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Experience working in a healthcare field, preferably in a clinical setting or business office.
Excellent verbal and communication skills.
Understanding of medical terminology.
Knowledge of the managed care authorization process.
Knowledge of ICD-10 codes.
Collection experience.
Ability to calculate and collect patients’ financial responsibility and insurance copayments and coinsurance.
