About The Position

Join a dynamic, growing, fast-paced oral surgery practice as a Patient Experience Coordinator. The practice’s oral and maxillofacial surgeons and team are dedicated to providing outstanding patient care and service. In this role, you will serve as a point of contact for referrals and guide patients through the process from start to finish, helping ensure their needs are met and they have an outstanding experience in the office. Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior experience working in a medical or dental office.
• Ability to access, input, and retrieve information using a variety of computer programs, including Microsoft Office products.
• Comfort with and ability to quickly learn new software programs and electronic medical records (EMR).

Nice To Haves

• Associate or bachelor's degree in healthcare administration or a related field.
• At least 2 years of experience as a patient care or medical office coordinator, including patient scheduling, insurance verification and billing, and collections.
• Experience with medical or dental insurance, ICD-10 coding, data entry, and appointment or surgery scheduling.
• Experience with financial counseling in a medical office.

Responsibilities

• Provide outstanding customer service, prioritizing the patient.
• Answer telephone inquiries, direct callers to appropriate personnel, or create new patient appointments.
• Confirm patient appointments and provide instructions needed before initial appointments.
• Contact patients about benefits, co-pays, and coverage information for outpatient procedures.
• Respond to third-party payer requests for additional information in a timely manner.
• Coordinate baseline benefit verification or self-pay payment options for new patients.
• Coordinate with coworkers and other offices to verify referrals and radiography.
