About The Position

Responsible for transporting patients between hospital locations, including patient rooms, radiology, and other ancillary departments as assigned. The role models appropriate behavior in accordance with MLH Mission, Vision, and Values. Patient Escorts contribute to caring for the community through compassion, service, and a consistent commitment to excellence.

Requirements

• Ability to communicate verbally with others.
• Ability to maintain working relationships with co-workers.
• Ability to organize and complete tasks.
• Ability to read and follow simple written instructions.
• Ability to react quickly to emergency situations.

Nice To Haves

• No prior work experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Transport inpatients and outpatients safely between hospital departments using a stretcher, wheelchair, bed, or stroke chair as appropriate.
• Use patient safety criteria and follow correct patient handoff processes.
• Ensure patients are comfortable during transport.
• Assist patients, families, and health care staff as needed.
• Place equipment that is not in use in its assigned location and ensure equipment is clean and in proper working order.
• Perform other job functions.
