The NF1 PN and HPP Patient Education Manager (PEM) serves as an empathetic, trusted educational resource for patients and families. The role engages local NF1 and HPP patient communities through one-to-one meetings, delivers unbranded and branded patient education through programs, and partners closely with Alexion’s Patient Advocacy team and local and regional advocacy groups to increase awareness of disease burden, progression, and treatment. PEMs also refer patients and caregivers to Case Managers for support when starting Alexion therapy and connect the community with local advocacy networks and approved resources throughout the treatment journey. The PEM develops a regional patient engagement plan with Patient Advocacy and NF1 PN and HPP brand marketing, coordinates compliant local outreach with cross-functional teams, and educates patients, caregivers, families, and healthcare offices. The role delivers in-person and virtual education, builds a regional network of advocates through local events, and tracks and communicates progress against data-driven performance objectives. The territory may cover North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, and Tennessee, with travel of 60–80% of the time, including evenings and weekends.
