Patient Care Technician- Cancer Unit - Day Shift
About The Position
Patient Care Technicians are unlicensed staff members who work under the direct supervision of a professional nurse to implement delegated aspects of nursing care. The role provides patient care and support for admissions and discharges while following patient safety practices. Technicians observe patients’ physical, mental, and emotional conditions and report changes to nursing staff. This position is on the Cancer Unit at Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center in Woodbridge, Virginia, and is a full-time day-shift role working three 12-hour shifts, including rotating weekends and holidays.
Requirements
- High school diploma.
- Must meet at least one of the listed qualifications: Sentara Care Partner Certification Program; successful completion of CNA, NCMA, or NCPCT certification; completion of U.S. Navy Hospital Corps School; Emergency Services qualification such as EMR, EMS, EMT, AEMT, or Paramedic; current enrollment in a clinical program (RN, LPN, RT, or PT) after completing at least one semester; or PCT or Nursing Assistant work experience within the last three years.

- One year of hospital experience is strongly preferred.
