About The Position
Augusta Health is seeking a full-time Patient Care Technician. Under the supervision and direction of a registered nurse, the technician performs duties that assist unit staff nurses and clerical specialists in supporting efficient unit operations and safe patient care in accordance with established procedures. Duties include bathing, dressing, and feeding patients; taking vital signs; performing phlebotomy; and performing EKGs.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Meet educational requirements associated with hospital certifications, such as Stroke or Orthopedic/Spine certifications.
Nice To Haves
- Completion of the first semester of clinical rotations in an RN program.
- Virginia Certified Nursing Assistant certification.
- Previous acute care hospital work experience.
Responsibilities
- Assist unit staff nurses and clerical specialists with efficient unit operations and safe patient care under the supervision and direction of a registered nurse.
- Bathe, dress, and feed patients.
- Perform vital signs.
- Perform phlebotomy.
- Perform EKGs.
