About The Position

The Patient Care Technician (PCT) is a member of the collaborative nursing team and supports Registered Nurses by providing hands-on, non-medicated patient care and helping maintain a safe, welcoming environment. The role assists with daily patient needs, helps RNs monitor patient conditions and carry out care plans, and contributes to patient comfort, dignity, and recovery.

Requirements

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.

Nice To Haves

• CNA certification in the Commonwealth of Virginia through the Board of Health Professions, or completion of a Fundamentals of Nursing course through an accredited school of nursing.
• Previous patient care experience in a healthcare facility.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient preparation, mobility, transfers, and comfort to support care and recovery.
• Provide non-medicated care, including dressing changes, skin protection, and use of supportive devices.
• Keep patient areas and common spaces clean, organized, and stocked.
• Manage supplies, equipment, and logs to support infection control and team readiness.
• Communicate kindly with patients, families, and the care team to support safety and quality.
• Assist with daily patient needs such as vital signs, mobility, and personal care.
• Help Registered Nurses monitor patient conditions and carry out care plans.
