About The Position

The Patient Care Technician (PCT) is a vital member of the collaborative nursing team, supporting Registered Nurses in providing hands-on care and helping create a safe, welcoming environment for patients. The PCT assists with daily needs such as vital signs, mobility, and personal care, and helps RNs monitor patient conditions and carry out care plans. The role calls for attention, empathy, and teamwork to help restore comfort and dignity for patients.

Requirements

• Obtain Basic Cardiac Life Support certification within 30 days of employment start date.
• Be a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or attend the PCT Essentials five-week training program.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient preparation, mobility, transfers, and comfort to support care and recovery.
• Provide non-medicated care, including dressing changes, skin protection, and use of supportive devices.
• Keep patient areas and common spaces clean, organized, and stocked to maintain safety and efficiency.
• Manage supplies, equipment, and logs to support infection control and team readiness.
• Communicate kindly with patients, families, and the care team to support safety and quality.
