About The Position

The Patient Care Technician (PCT) is a vital member of the collaborative nursing team, supporting Registered Nurses in providing hands-on care and helping create a safe, welcoming environment for patients. The role includes assisting with daily needs such as vital signs, mobility, and personal care; helping RNs monitor patient conditions and carry out care plans; and providing attentive, empathetic support that promotes comfort and dignity.

Requirements

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), or attendance in the PCT Essentials five-week training program.
• No travel required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient preparation, mobility, transfers, and comfort to support care and recovery.
• Provide non-medicated care, including dressing changes, skin protection, and use of supportive devices.
• Keep patient areas and common spaces clean, organized, and stocked.
• Manage supplies, equipment, and logs to support infection control and team readiness.
• Communicate kindly with patients, families, and the care team to support safety and quality.
• Support Registered Nurses with hands-on care, patient monitoring, and care plans.
