About The Position

Henrico Doctors' Hospital is hiring a Patient Care Technician to support Registered Nurses as part of a collaborative nursing team. The role provides hands-on, non-medicated patient care and helps maintain a safe, welcoming environment. The technician assists with patients’ daily needs, helps RNs monitor conditions and carry out care plans, and contributes to patient comfort, dignity, safety, and recovery.

This is a part-time position requiring two 12-hour night shifts, from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., with rotating weekends. The hospital describes itself as a 340-bed community hospital established in 1974 and operated by HCA Healthcare.

Requirements

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Ability to work two 12-hour night shifts, 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., with rotating weekends.

Nice To Haves

• CNA certification in the Commonwealth of Virginia through the Board of Health Professions, or completion of a Fundamentals of Nursing course through an accredited school of nursing.
• Previous acute patient care experience in a healthcare facility.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient preparation, mobility, transfers, and comfort.
• Provide non-medicated care, including dressing changes, skin protection, and use of supportive devices.
• Keep patient areas and common spaces clean, organized, and stocked.
• Manage supplies, equipment, and logs to support infection control and team readiness.
• Communicate kindly with patients, families, and the care team to support safety and quality.
• Support Registered Nurses with hands-on care, monitoring patient conditions, and carrying out care plans.
