About The Position

Hillcrest Hospital South is seeking a full-time, day-shift Patient Care Technician for its Cardiac Stepdown unit in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The position supports patient care and nursing staff in a 180-bed full-service hospital offering inpatient and outpatient services. The technician performs patient-care tasks within the scope of practice and may also assist with reception, patient arrivals and room assignments, charts, supplies, and maintaining an organized nursing station.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and before providing direct patient care.

Nice To Haves

Two years of experience in acute or long-term care.
Demonstrated proficiency in phlebotomy.
Completion of an approved CNA, PCT, or paramedic certification program, or current enrollment in nursing school.

Responsibilities

Obtain patients’ vital signs.
Assist with transporting patients, including discharged patients.
Pass meal trays and provide hygiene care.
Answer patient inquiries within the scope of practice.
Receive patients at the desk, escort them to the appropriate room, and provide initial instructions.
May act as the unit receptionist, assign patients to rooms on the board, and alert nursing staff when patients arrive.
Pull and prepare charts and retrieve charts as needed.
Order and monitor the use of selected office supplies, nutritional supplements, and forms.
Assist with stocking unit supplies and keeping nursing stations clean and organized.
