About The Position

Highpoint Health- Sumner, part of Lifepoint Health, is hiring a Patient Care Technician for its Respiratory Med-Surg team. This full-time, day-shift role supports direct patient care and the facility’s mission of making communities healthier. The technician assists patients with activities of daily living, observes and records patient behavior and activities, and reports changes in patients’ physical, mental, or emotional condition to nursing staff. The role may also involve assisting with point-of-care testing and EKGs as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required; candidates with a State of Tennessee CNA license may be considered without a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

• State of Tennessee CNA license preferred.
• One year of certified nurse technician or EMT experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living.
• Provide or assist with providing direct patient care.
• Observe and record patient behavior and activities.
• Report changes in patients’ physical, mental, or emotional condition to nursing staff and suggest modifications to treatment plans.
• Assist with point-of-care testing and EKGs as needed.
