About The Position

Highpoint Health- Sumner is seeking a Patient Care Technician for its Respiratory Med-Surg team. This full-time, day-schedule role supports the facility’s mission to make communities healthier by providing direct patient care and assisting patients with daily activities. The technician observes and records patient behavior and activities, reports changes in patients’ physical, mental, or emotional conditions to nursing staff, and assists with point-of-care testing and EKGs as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required; candidates with a State of Tennessee CNA license may be considered without a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

• State of Tennessee CNA license preferred.
• One year of certified nurse technician or EMT experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living.
• Provide or assist with providing direct patient care.
• Observe and record patient behavior and activities.
• Report changes in patients’ physical, mental, or emotional conditions to nursing staff and suggest modifications to treatment plans.
• Assist with point-of-care testing and EKGs as needed.
