About The Position

Highpoint Health-Sumner is seeking a Patient Care Technician to provide direct patient care on the Respiratory Med-Surg unit. The role supports patients with activities of daily living, observes and documents patient behavior and activities, and communicates changes in patients’ physical, mental, or emotional condition to nursing staff. The technician may also assist with point-of-care testing and EKGs as needed. This is a full-time night-schedule position.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required; applicants with a State of Tennessee CNA license may be considered without a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

• State of Tennessee CNA license preferred.
• One year of certified nurse technician or EMT experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living.
• Provide or assist with providing direct patient care.
• Observe and record patient behavior and activities.
• Report changes in patients’ physical, mental, or emotional condition to nursing staff and suggest modifications to treatment plans.
• Assist with point-of-care testing and EKGs as needed.
