About The Position

The Patient Care Technician (PCT) works closely with nurses to provide hands-on care and support to patients in the Outpatient Infusion Center. The center is located in MOB4 on the Gateway Campus and cares for patients with a range of diagnoses, including cancer, anemia, and autoimmune diseases. The variety of diagnoses offers opportunities to learn. The role includes exposure to bodily fluids and dynamic, sensitive situations. Compassion, resilience, and attention to detail support the delivery of quality care.

Requirements

• Obtain Basic Life Support: Health Care Provider certification within six months of hire.
• Successfully complete PCT classes as required by the care center or unit.

Nice To Haves

• Completion of a high school education or equivalent (GED) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with personal hygiene, including bathing, brushing teeth, toileting, and changing linens.
• Help patients with mobility, repositioning, and transfers.
• Monitor and record vital signs.
• Document important information in patient charts.
• Provide compassionate care, including support for patients nearing the end of life.
• Work closely with nurses to provide hands-on care and support to patients.
