About The Position

Oneida Health is seeking a per diem Nursing Patient Care Technician for the night shift in its Hospital ICU Department. The technician assists the ICU Nursing Team and delivers direct patient care in collaboration with registered nurses, performing tasks that do not require nursing judgment or medication administration. The position involves working independently as well as collaboratively with the team.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• BLS/CPR certification (preferred).
• One year of Nursing Assistant experience (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Observe patients, gather information, and document it carefully and accurately.
• Perform basic patient care under the direction of the Charge Nurse.
• Communicate effectively and route messages to the appropriate person.
• Maintain a safe and healthy patient environment according to hospital quality standards.
• Assist patients and families with their needs using a customer service approach.
• Perform ward clerk and clerical tasks as needed.
• Maintain equipment and perform routine cleaning tasks.
• Assist registered nurses with patient education needs.
