Patient Care Technician - South 7 Comfort Care
About The Position
Middlesex Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the South 7 Comfort Care Department. Patient Care Technicians provide safe, high-quality care to patients under the direction of a Registered Nurse. The role includes supporting patients’ daily needs, collecting and documenting clinical data, observing patients, reinforcing education, and helping maintain a positive environment for patients, families, and staff. The position is listed for 36 hours, with 12-hour day shifts from 0630 to 1900 and a requirement to work every third weekend. Requirements
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
- Experience in a patient care environment, such as experience as a CNA, EMT, Medical Assistant, nursing student, or pre-Physician Assistant student.
- Accountability, multitasking, organization, and good communication skills.
Nice To Haves
- Hospital experience.
- Certification as a nursing assistant (CNA) or Patient Care Technician (PCT).
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living, including basic hygiene, toileting, and nutrition.
- Collect and document data such as vital signs and blood glucose measurements.
- Perform direct patient observation.
- Reinforce patient education.
- Participate in creating a positive environment for patients, families, and staff.
- Provide care under the direction of the Registered Nurse.
