Patient Care Technician - Medical ICU
About The Position
The Patient Care Technician works in Bliss 7 ICU, a newly renovated 12-bed Medical Intensive Care Unit caring for patients with complex, highly acute medical issues, including respiratory failure, gastrointestinal bleeding, liver or kidney injury or failure, sepsis, and drug or alcohol withdrawal. Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, the Patient Care Associate performs delegated functions as part of the patient care team. These services support patients’ health care, safety, and comfort needs and must follow regulatory and hospital standards, policies, and procedures. The position reports to the Unit Manager.
Requirements
- Obtain CPR validation within three months of hire.
- Complete or be pursuing education in a related health field, such as a medical assistant program, EMT certification, or nursing.
- Have previous patient care experience, preferably in a hospital or acute-care setting.
- Hold certification as a nursing assistant (CNA) or Patient Care Technician (PCT).
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous patient care experience in a hospital or acute-care setting.
