PCT - Internal Medicine Clinic
About The Position
Sanford Health is seeking a self-motivated, independent, and compassionate Patient Care Technician (PCT) to support ambulatory services in its Internal Medicine Clinic. The clinic provides primary care for patients with chronic diseases, group wellness visits, home-based primary care, and some outreach care. PCTs provide basic patient care and support clinic activities under the direct supervision of a licensed clinical professional. Candidates of all experience levels are welcome. The role calls for adaptability, flexibility, a team-oriented approach, and willingness to learn. The PCT is paired one-on-one with a specific provider and works according to that provider’s schedule. The schedule is Monday through Friday, between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., with 40 scheduled hours per week. Shifts are eight-hour day shifts. Requirements
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for health care providers is required or must be obtained within the first 60 days of employment.
- Obtain and maintain required department-specific competencies and certifications.
- If working in North Dakota and not a Certified Nursing Assistant, register as a Nursing Assistant (NA) through the North Dakota Department of Health within four months of initial employment.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or GED preferred, but not required.
- At least six months of experience preferred.
- Clinic-setting experience preferred.
- Knowledge of healthcare, anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and medical equipment and supplies preferred.
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification preferred.
Responsibilities
- Take patient vital signs.
- Room patients for providers and ask intake questions.
- Clean and stock patient rooms and treatment rooms.
- Assist providers and the nursing team as needed.
