About The Position

Raleigh General Hospital is hiring a Patient Care Technician to support patient care in a collaborative hospital environment. The position is full-time, day shift, working three 12-hour shifts with a rotating weekend. The technician performs basic care delegated by an RN, assists patients with daily activities, observes and reports changes, and helps maintain safe and well-stocked patient areas. The role also supports nursing and physician staff, department throughput, and care documentation. The technician participates in performance improvement and required education, and performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school degree preferred.
• Hospital experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic patient care as delegated by an RN, including monitoring vital signs, possible blood glucose measurements, and accurate intake/output recording.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, grooming, eating, toileting, and ambulation.
• Observe and promptly report abnormal physical, mental, or emotional findings to nursing staff.
• Maintain clean, safe, and well-stocked patient rooms and common areas.
• Manage the tech desk and support nursing and physician staff and overall department throughput.
• Document care and activities according to unit standards.
• Participate in performance improvement and required education.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
