About The Position

Raleigh General Hospital is hiring a Patient Care Technician to support patient care in a collaborative hospital setting. The role is listed as full-time, day shift, working three 12-hour shifts from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. The technician provides basic care delegated by a registered nurse, assists patients with daily activities, reports changes to nursing staff, and helps maintain safe, clean, and well-stocked patient areas. The technician also supports department operations, documents care, participates in performance improvement, and completes required education.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic patient care as delegated by an RN, including monitoring vital signs, possible blood glucose measurements, and accurately recording intake and output.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, grooming, eating, toileting, and ambulation.
• Observe and promptly report abnormal physical, mental, or emotional findings to nursing staff.
• Maintain clean, safe, and well-stocked patient rooms and common areas.
• Manage the tech desk and support nursing and physician staff and overall department throughput.
• Document care and activities according to unit standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Participate in performance improvement and required education.
