About The Position

Raleigh General Hospital is hiring a Patient Care Technician to support patient care in a collaborative hospital environment. The role performs basic patient care as delegated by an RN, helps patients with activities of daily living, monitors and reports relevant patient observations, and helps maintain safe, clean, well-stocked care areas. The technician also supports department operations, documentation, performance improvement, and required education. The position is full-time, working nights in three 12-hour shifts with a rotating weekend.

Nice To Haves

• High school degree preferred.
• Hospital experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic patient care as delegated by an RN, including monitoring vital signs, possible blood glucose measurements, and accurately recording intake and output.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, grooming, eating, toileting, and ambulation.
• Observe and promptly report abnormal physical, mental, or emotional findings to nursing staff.
• Maintain clean, safe, and well-stocked patient rooms and common areas.
• Manage the tech desk and support nursing and physician staff and overall department throughput.
• Document care and activities according to unit standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Participate in performance improvement and required education.
