Patient Care Technician/CNA - Float Pool (.9 FTE/Days)
About The Position
The Float Pool at Overlake Hospital is a high-performing, energetic, compassionate team that enjoys variety, works independently, and provides customer service throughout the hospital. Patient Care Technicians collaborate with multiple departments to deliver excellent patient care and experiences. The role calls for professionalism, a positive attitude, critical thinking, problem-solving, and strong communication skills. Float Pool PCTs provide care and/or observation for a diverse patient population across units including Medical, Surgical, Orthopedics, Telemetry, and Critical Care. The position is 0.9 FTE, 12-hour day shifts, totaling 72 hours in a two-week schedule and including every other weekend. The team offers regular training opportunities and a culture that recognizes professional growth and development. Overlake will sponsor the required Medical Assistant Registered licensure upon hire.
Requirements
- Nursing Assistant Certification (NA-C).
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Completion of a Certified Nursing Assistant Training Program or equivalent documented nursing training experience.
- Medical Assistant Registered (MA-R) licensure; Overlake Hospital will sponsor this upon hire.
- Health Care Provider CPR Certification.
- Excellent customer service and oral and written communication skills.
Nice To Haves
- At least one year of experience working in a hospital environment as a CNA.
- One year of recent experience in a health care setting involving patient contact.
- Hospital experience and/or nursing school experience.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Computer familiarity.
