About The Position

The Patient Care Tech assists patients with activities of daily living and provides basic nursing care to meet patients’ physical, emotional, and social needs. The role serves as a clinical preceptor to Nursing Assistants and PCTs, is cross-trained as a Unit Associate, helps maintain a safe and clean unit environment, and performs miscellaneous duties as assigned. The position is per diem on the day shift in Telemetry at Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire or transfer into the role.

Nice To Haves

• Certified Nursing Assistant certification from an approved program.
• Florida-issued CNA license.
• Completion of the first semester of a Registered Nurse program.

Responsibilities

• Delivers exceptional customer service.

• Assists with indirect patient care functions and transport.
• Communicates and documents activities.
