About The Position
The Patient Care Tech provides general nursing care assistance to patients, taking into consideration the unique needs of pediatric and geriatric populations as appropriate. The role helps maintain a safe, clean, and organized environment. Patient Care Technicians work under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse and perform general stocking duties as needed to support unit operations.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Obtain Basic Life Support within 3 months of hire.
Nice To Haves
- Successful completion of an approved aide training program.
- Previous phlebotomy or point-of-care testing experience.
- One year of previous experience providing patient care in a healthcare setting.
Responsibilities
- Provide patient hygiene and routine care.
- Obtain routine vital signs.
- Document patient care in the EMR within the scope of practice.
- Perform phlebotomy and other laboratory collections.
- Place appropriate monitoring equipment.
- Perform 12-lead ECGs.
- Coordinate patient transport as needed.
- Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized environment.
- Perform general stocking duties as needed to support unit operations.
