About The Position
The Patient Care Tech provides general nursing care assistance to patients, considering the unique needs of pediatric and geriatric populations as appropriate. The role helps maintain a safe, clean, and organized environment and performs general stocking duties to support unit operations. Patient Care Technicians work under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Must obtain Basic Life Support within 3 months of hire.
Nice To Haves
- Successful completion of an approved aide training program.
- Previous phlebotomy or point-of-care testing experience.
- One year of previous experience providing patient care in a healthcare setting.
Responsibilities
- Provide patient hygiene and routine care.
- Obtain routine vital signs.
- Document patient care in the EMR within scope of practice.
- Perform phlebotomy and other laboratory collections.
- Place appropriate monitoring equipment.
- Perform 12 Lead ECGs.
- Coordinate patient transport as needed.
- Assist with general stocking duties to support unit operations.
- Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized environment.
