About The Position

The Patient Care Tech assists patients with activities of daily living and provides basic nursing care to meet patients’ physical, emotional, and social needs. The role serves as a clinical preceptor to Nursing Assistants and PCTs and is cross-trained to Unit Associate. The Patient Care Tech also helps maintain a safe and clean unit environment and performs miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Coursework as a Nursing Assistant, EMT, or Paramedic.
• Nursing Assistant certification, or EMT or Paramedic certification.
• Basic Life Support certification.
• CPI certification due within 30 days of hire or transfer.

Nice To Haves

• Experience as a Certified Medical Assistant, EMT, or Paramedic is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Delivers exceptional customer service.
• Assists with patient care functions.
• Assists with indirect patient care functions and transport.
• Communicates and documents activities.
• Provides leadership, including serving as a clinical preceptor to Nursing Assistants and PCTs.
• Assists with maintaining a safe and clean unit environment.
• Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned.
