Patient Care Tech - Internal Medicine Clinic
About The Position
The Patient Care Technician (PCT) performs basic patient care services and supports activities within ambulatory services. PCTs are multi-skilled to provide expanded services under the direct supervision of a licensed clinical professional. The position is in a fast-moving Internal Medicine Clinic and is suitable for candidates with varying levels of experience. The successful candidate is self-motivated, independent, compassionate, and able to adapt to a dynamic work environment while managing multiple tasks. The role is scheduled for 40 hours per week on an 8-hour day shift. The clinic states that there are no nights, weekends, holidays, or call. Specialized onboarding and on-the-job training are provided. The department is growing and offers opportunities to learn, take on new challenges, and develop a career.
Requirements
- Able to adapt to a dynamic work environment while managing various tasks.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for health care providers is required, or must be obtained within the first 60 days of employment.
- Obtain and maintain required department-specific competencies and certifications.
- If working in North Dakota and not a Certified Nursing Assistant, register as a Nursing Assistant through the North Dakota Department of Health within four months from the date of initial employment.
Nice To Haves
- High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred, but not required.
- At least six months of experience preferred.
- Experience in a clinic setting preferred.
- Knowledge of healthcare, anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and medical equipment and supplies preferred.
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) preferred.
Responsibilities
- Take patient vital signs.
- Room patients for providers.
- Clean and stock patient treatment rooms.
- Assist providers and the nursing team as needed.
- Perform basic patient care services and support ambulatory services under the direct supervision of a licensed clinical professional.
