About The Position

INTEGRIS Health is hiring a full-time Patient Care Tech for the Intermediate Care Unit at INTEGRIS Health Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Day and night shifts are available. The Patient Care Tech performs delegated direct patient care activities for an assigned group of patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. The role requires population-specific competencies and adherence to applicable National Patient Safety Goals.

Requirements

Current BLS certification or completion within 90 days.
Ability to communicate effectively in English.
Complete department-specific competencies in the applicable department during orientation.
Meet one of the following education or experience options: successful completion of a recognized nursing assistant course; successful completion of an accredited nursing program, Nursing Fundamentals, or Introduction into Nursing course that includes a skills lab or clinical rotation, with transcript or official program verification; enroll in a CNA training program within 45 days and complete it within 90 days of hire; have 3 months of employment in an INTEGRIS patient care area with training and observation for nursing assistant duties, certified by the clinical nurse manager or clinical director; have 12 months of nursing assistant experience in an acute care facility, nursing home, home care setting, or long-term care facility; or have prior hospital corpsman medical training in the military.

Responsibilities

Perform personal patient care tasks, including mouth care, making beds, bathing, perineal care, hair care, shaving patients, and emptying bedpans or urinals.
Assist with patient safety, including checking identification arm bands, following fall protocols and restraint practices, positioning patients, promoting rest and sleep, and reporting incidents or injuries.
Perform treatments that may include urinary catheter care, enema administration, preparing sitz baths, applying compresses, and assisting with patient ambulation.
May retrieve and transport medications.
