About The Position

INTEGRIS Health is hiring a full-time Patient Care Tech for the Cardiovascular Care Unit at INTEGRIS Health Southwest Medical Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Openings are available on day and night shifts. The Patient Care Tech performs delegated direct patient care activities for an assigned group of patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. The role requires population-specific competencies and adherence to applicable National Patient Safety Goals.

Requirements

Current BLS certification or completion within 90 days.
Ability to communicate effectively in English.
Complete department-specific competencies during orientation.
Meet at least one of the listed education or experience pathways: successful completion of a recognized nursing assistant course; successful completion of an accredited nursing program’s Nursing Fundamentals or Introduction to Nursing course that includes a skills lab or clinical rotation, with verification by transcript or official program notice; enroll in a CNA training program within 45 days and complete it within 90 days of hire; have three months of employment in an INTEGRIS patient care area with nursing assistant duties training and observation certified by the clinical nurse manager or clinical director; have 12 months of nursing assistant experience in an acute care facility, nursing home, home care setting, or long-term care facility; or have prior military hospital corpsman medical training.

Responsibilities

Perform personal patient care tasks, including mouth care, bed making, bathing, perineal care, hair care, shaving, and emptying bedpans or urinals.
Assist with patient safety, including checking identification armbands, following fall protocols and restraint procedures, positioning patients, promoting an environment for rest and sleep, and reporting incidents or injuries.
Perform treatments that may include urinary catheter care, enema administration, preparing sitz baths, applying compresses, and assisting patients with ambulation.
May retrieve and transport medications.
