About The Position

The Medical Surgical Patient Care Technician (PCT) provides nursing care under the supervision of a registered nurse or licensed practical nurse. The PCT provides age-appropriate care for patients on the unit, assists with activities of daily living, and performs unit secretary functions in a busy patient care area. The role also functions as a Monitor Technician, observing and analyzing cardiac rhythms of patients on telemetry and hardwire monitors under the supervision of a registered nurse. The Monitor Technician must demonstrate competency in cardiac arrhythmias and accurate record keeping and logging. The PCT is expected to adhere to the rules and regulations of the Oklahoma Nursing Practice Act.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Obtain BLS certification within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and before providing direct patient care.
• Age-appropriate patient care and/or healthcare clerical experience.

Nice To Haves

• Previous Nurse Aide or Unit Clerk experience.
