About The Position

The Patient Care Tech assists nursing staff in providing basic care to adult patients, including taking vital signs, assisting with hygiene, and monitoring patients. The role measures and records patient intake, outputs, and temperatures (oral, auxiliary, and rectal), and promptly advises a supervisor of abnormalities. It documents care accurately and promptly in the electronic health record. The position also performs Unit Secretary duties as needed, provides clinical and reception support, manages unit supply procurement, receipt, and storage as directed by the Charge Nurse and/or Director, and enters orders and tests accurately and promptly in the electronic health record.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Florida CNA licensure.
• Certified Nursing Assistant Program completion.
• BLS (AHA) certification.
• Healthy Interventions within 30 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

• Phlebotomy experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist with delivery of patient care and patient care functions.
• Provide clerical support to unit nursing staff.

• Maintain unit organization and equipment as observed by the Director.
• Measure and record patient intake, outputs, and temperatures.
• Document care and enter orders and tests accurately and promptly in the electronic health record.
• Perform Unit Secretary duties as needed, including clinical and reception support.
• Manage unit supply procurement, receipt, and storage as directed.
