About The Position
The Medical-Surgical 3C Patient Care Technician (PCT) provides basic patient care in an entry-level role under nursing supervision. The position is day shift and full time at BSA Hospital in Amarillo, Texas. BSA Hospital is a 445-bed hospital serving the Amarillo area and provides healthcare in Christian love, service, and dignity.
Requirements
- Must have completed some high school education.
- BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and before providing direct patient care.
Nice To Haves
- High School Diploma or GED equivalency.
- Completion of High School PCT competencies.
- Certification as a PCT (Certified Care Technician) or CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant).
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with daily activities, including bathing, dressing, and eating.
- Observe patients’ progress and prepare and share reports with the Nurse.
- Obtain and record patients’ vital signs.
- Collect specimens for laboratory tests.
