About The Position
Join Hillcrest Medical Center as a full-time, day-shift Medical Surgical Patient Care Technician (PCT) in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Under moderate supervision from nursing and medical staff, the PCT assists patients with daily activities, observes and reports patient progress, records vital signs, collects specimens, provides basic patient transport and housekeeping, documents intake and output and other measurements, assists with range of motion, and draws blood.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and before providing direct patient care.
Nice To Haves
- Completion of an approved CNA, PCT, or paramedic certification program, or current enrollment in nursing school.
- Two years of experience in acute or long-term care.
- Demonstrated proficiency in phlebotomy.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with daily activities, including bathing, dressing, eating, and other activities of daily living.
- Observe patients’ progress and prepare and disseminate reports to the Registered Nurse or other medical staff.
- Obtain and record patients’ vital signs.
- Collect specimens for laboratory tests.
- Provide basic patient transport and housekeeping duties.
- Measure and record patients’ intake and output and other measurements in accordance with unit routines.
- Assist patients with range of motion.
- Draw blood.
