About The Position

Join the team as a day-shift, PRN Adult Psychiatric Patient Care Tech in Cushing, Oklahoma. The Patient Care Tech works under the moderate supervision of nursing and medical staff to perform PCT duties. The role supports adult psychiatric patients with daily activities, observes and reports patient progress, obtains and records vital signs, collects specimens, and assists with transport, housekeeping, measurements, range of motion, and blood draws.

Requirements

• Obtain BLS certification within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and before providing direct patient care.

Nice To Haves

• Completion of an approved CNA, PCT, or paramedic (EMT-P) certification that includes BLS.
• Currently enrolled in nursing school.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and eating.
• Observe patients’ progress and prepare and disseminate reports to Registered Nurses or other medical staff.
• Obtain and record patients’ vital signs.
• Collect specimens for laboratory tests.
• Provide basic patient transport and housekeeping duties.
• Measure and record patients’ intake and output and other measurements in accordance with unit routines.
• Assist patients with range of motion.
• Draw blood.
