About The Position
The Patient Care Tech provides hands-on direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse in the 5P Medical/Surgical Orthopedic unit at Samaritan Hospital. The role is full-time, with three 12-hour day shifts each week and no set schedule; weekdays, weekends, and holidays rotate. Duties include assisting patients with activities of daily living, taking vital signs, documenting patient care, and managing supplies. The position requires completion of a one-week SPHP PCT training program and unit-specific competencies.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull heavy loads and stand for long periods.
- Completion of a one-week SPHP PCT training program and unit-specific competencies.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, feeding, and ambulation.
- Take vital signs and document patient care.
- Manage supplies.
- Perform a variety of direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse.
