About The Position

Saint Francis Hospital & Medical Center in Hartford is seeking dedicated Paramedics to help provide quality care to local communities. The Paramedic performs advanced procedures during treatment and transport unless assisted by another licensed EMT-P. The role involves assessing situations, providing medical care to treat and stabilize patients, and preparing them for transport. Paramedics use specialized equipment such as ventilators and defibrillators when needed, communicate with patients, family members, colleagues, and medical staff at healthcare facilities, and prepare accurate incident and patient reports. The position is full-time, with rotating 12-hour night shifts from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.

Requirements

• High school diploma.
• Completion of an accredited Paramedic program.
• Current Connecticut Paramedic license.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to think and act calmly in emergency situations.

Responsibilities

• Assess situations and provide necessary medical care to treat and stabilize patients and prepare them for transport.
• Perform advanced procedures during treatment and transport unless assisted by another licensed EMT-P.
• Use specialized equipment, such as ventilators and defibrillators, when needed.
• Communicate clear, concise information to patients, family members, colleagues on-site, and medical staff at healthcare facilities.
• Write and submit accurate incident and patient reports.
