About The Position

The Patient Care Tech works in the Stroke Progressive Care Unit at Trinity Health Livonia Campus. Under the direction of a registered nurse, the technician provides direct patient care while considering patients’ age-specific, developmental, cultural, and spiritual needs. The role requires demonstrating unit- or area-designated competencies and helping maintain a clean, safe care environment that supports patient and family well-being, including relationship-based care. This is a part-time position on a 12-hour night shift, 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. Every-other-weekend work and three holidays per year are required for full-time and part-time team members.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Preferred minimum of one year of previous direct care experience in an acute or long-term care setting, or successful completion of a CENA, PCT, MA, or EMT course, or completion of the nursing fundamentals class in a BSN program for student nurses.

Responsibilities

Perform nursing care delegated by the registered nurse to help identify and attain treatment goals.
Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs).
Use sterile or aseptic technique as appropriate when performing delegated activities.
Help establish and maintain a clean, safe patient care environment that supports patient and family well-being.
Record patient information and required data in appropriate areas to meet documentation and charging requirements.
Complete delegated unit-specific activities.
Demonstrate unit- or area-designated competencies.
