Patient Care Technician - Progressive Care Unit
About The Position
Sentara Health is hiring a Patient Care Technician for the Progressive Care Unit at Sentara RMH Medical Center in Harrisonburg, Virginia. The role works the third (night) shift and provides direct patient care under the supervision of a nurse. Duties include supporting the admission and discharge process, changing and bathing patients, assisting with ambulation, drawing blood, providing Foley catheter care, and meeting patient needs. The position offers opportunities to learn skills such as taking vital signs and performing blood draws, in a team-oriented care environment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must meet at least one of the following qualifications: graduate of the Sentara Care Partner Certification Program; successful completion of a CNA, NCMA, or NCPCT program; completion of US Navy Hospital Corps School; emergency-services training such as EMR, EMS, EMT, AEMT, or Paramedic; current enrollment in a clinical program (RN, LPN, RT, or PT) with at least one semester completed; or work experience within the last three years as a PCT or Nursing Assistant.
